Now we’re starting to get into some of the less obvious in my tips and tricks to get more views on YouTube. When you upload a video on YouTube, there are options to allow, disallow, or allow with approval responses to your videos. By default, currently YouTube videos are set to disallow video responses. I suggest that you allow it.
Some people prefer to leave the option off because they do not want people to respond with hateful or negative videos. When it comes to getting more views on YouTube, you should not worry about this. Even negative videos will bring you attention. If this happens you can remove the video from your responses, and block the person if you wish.
Every video that is attached to one of your videos as a response has the potential to bring more views your way. People that watch these response videos will see that they are attached to your video. This does not guarantee that every person will come to your video, but it does significantly increase the chances.
Also, while you are waiting for your video to upload or process, instead of staring at your screen in anticipation, go on a hunt. Do search on YouTube for videos that may be related to yours. Look to see if they have responses on their video. If they do, chances are they are allowing responses. Once your video is uploaded and processed, go ahead and attach it to that related video. It is yet another chance for people to see your video. I recommend that you either subscribe or friend request the owner of the video you want to make your video a response to. It could be considered rude to attach a video and never acknowledge the channel. After all, they are doing you a favor by allowing you to attach it in the first place.
Now I suggest that you go through your videos and check each video’s settings. Make sure that each one is a response to a video, and make sure each video is allowing responses to be accepted. If you can’t find anything out there on YouTube to attach your video to, go ahead and attach it to one of your own!
Speed drawing of a Congo African Grey Parrot done in color pastels on 9″ x 12″ paper.
Total Drawing Time: 2hrs 52min
This drawing of Jabba was based on a photo submission from the YouTube channel, jabbabird. Jabba is a Congo African Gray Parrot which can often be seen on the jabbabird channel.
Since releasing this project, I have opened up a way for people to submit photos for future GenUs5000 videos. I sent out some messages, and changed the profile of the GenUs5000 channel to include the following:
Do you own a pet?… or perhaps you like to take wildlife photos, or photos at the zoo?
I’m looking for people to submit photos of pets and animals (even exotic plants or flowers). If you submit a photo to me, it could be chosen for a future video on my GenUs5000 channel.
Submitting a photo does not guarantee that it will be chosen. Here are some guidelines to increase the chances:
1. Email your photo attachment to genus5000@atomicus5000.com
2. Make the subject of the email “GenUs5000 photo”
3. In the message body of the email, include a lot of details about your photo. What is it? Where can it be found? If it’s a pet, list the breed or type. Be specific.
4. Be sure to include your YouTube channel name in the message so that the video can give mention, and direct other people to your channel.
5. Only the best photos following these guidelines will be chosen. The larger and the clearer they are, the better.
As mentioned, the video will point viewers to your YouTube channel as well. Also, if your photo is chosen and you like the artwork, you may have the original work at the cost of shipping. If your photo is chosen, you will be notified ahead of time. If you don’t hear anything back after submitting, it does not mean that your photo will not be used. I am only one person and can only do so much at one time, your submission could show up in a video months down the road on GenUs5000.
The new OpUs5k YouTube channel launched today with an HD version of CareemBrownMusic. The original version is still on AtomicUs5000. Many of the prior videos in the musicians series may be redrawn and reuploaded for this new channel in HD color and sound. The existing list of musicians to be included in this series has carried over to this new channel.
